Why the drop in interest in cookbooks?

Years ago, when I was helping my mom with her tag sales, it seemed that every other person that stopped asked for cookbooks. Now that I have my mom's collection of cookbooks out for my estate tag sale, no one even looks at them. I've advertised them on Craig's List and on the local classifieds and nary a nibble. Why the change over the intervening years?
